Assisted Sit-to-Stand Transfers

Guardian helps selected users rise from a suitable seated position using powered lifting assistance while they continue to participate through their legs and upper body.

It is intended for transfers planned and supervised by a trained caregiver.

Bed-to-Wheelchair and Chair Transfers

The adjustable base and powered lifting action may help reposition a suitable user between compatible beds, wheelchairs and chairs.

Confirm bed height, wheelchair access, seating position and the required transfer route before use.

Toileting and Personal-Care Transfers

Guardian may assist selected users with toilet or commode transfers where the room dimensions, toilet access, sling arrangement and standing ability allow safe handling.

It is not a commode chair.

Supervised Standing and Repeated Practice

For people who retain appropriate weight-bearing capacity, Guardian can form part of a professionally directed sit-to-stand or standing-tolerance programme.

Progress in muscle strength, balance or independence is not guaranteed.

Recovery and Long-Term Care

Guardian may be considered for selected older adults and people recovering from illness, surgery, stroke or other conditions affecting movement.

Suitability must be based on functional abilities rather than diagnosis alone.

Caregiver Handling

An electric lift can reduce the amount of direct manual raising required for suitable transfers.

Caregivers still need to position the user, inspect the sling, operate the device correctly and supervise the entire transfer.

Limits of Use

Guardian should not be used for full-body suspension of a completely dependent person unless a separate manufacturer-approved configuration and handling assessment specifically authorize it.

Do not describe the included transfer sling as automatic permission for full-body lifting.

Who Guardian May Suit

• Adults who can safely bear part of their body weight through their legs.
• People who can participate in rising and use the standing handles as appropriate.
• Users who need more help getting up than a simple standing aid can provide, but do not need a full-body hoist.
• Care routines requiring supervised transfers between compatible beds, wheelchairs, chairs or toilets.
• Users up to the published 200 kg maximum, provided fit and function are appropriate.

Who May Need a Different Lift

• A person unable to bear the necessary weight through the legs or unable to actively participate during standing.
• Someone whose head/trunk control, joint range, pain, contractures or unpredictable movements prevent safe positioning with the knee support, sling and handles.
• A user requiring complete body-weight support, floor recovery or complex lifting manoeuvres; assess a dedicated full-body patient hoist instead.
• A home where the base cannot enter or surround the intended furniture or where there is not enough space to manoeuvre safely.

Selecting the Sling

Both standing and transfer slings are included in the published package.

Confirm the correctly sized sling and exactly which transfer activities are manufacturer-approved for it.

A transfer sling in the box does not by itself make Guardian a full-body patient hoist.

Available Configuration Choices

• Adjust the padded knee support for height and angle within its approved range.
• Adjust the base width manually using the foot-pedal mechanism.
• Fit the supplied standing or transfer sling according to its approved instructions.
• Different sling sizes, toileting sling options, bariatric sizing and other accessories may be discussed with Morecare; confirm compatibility, ratings and price before ordering.
• The foot platform is removable, but its removal must follow an approved handling procedure—not an improvised transfer method.

Before Every Lift

• Confirm that the user has been assessed as capable of partial weight bearing and active participation and does not exceed 200 kg.
• Check the sling, stitching, loops and hooks for damage; use the correct sling size and approved attachment points.
• Adjust and check knee pad, standing handles and foot platform positioning.
• Verify base width, leg access, firm level flooring, unobstructed transfer route, caregiver space, wheel condition and brake function.
• Test battery charge, controller response and actuator operation before the user is supported by the device.
• Know the manufacturer's approved emergency lowering/recovery and caregiver contingency procedure before use.

During Sit-to-Stand and Transfers

• Use only with a trained caregiver or healthcare professional present; never leave the supported user unattended.
• Keep feet correctly placed, knees aligned to the padded support and the sling secured as the approved instructions describe.
• Use the wired controller gradually and monitor comfort, breathing, limb position and weight bearing throughout movement.
• Use castor brakes as prescribed for each setup, lifting, moving and parking stage; do not assume that all phases use the same brake setting.
• Do not manoeuvre on stairs, slopes, thick carpeting or uneven surfaces.
• Stop immediately if sling movement, posture, mechanical noise or a person's condition becomes unsafe.

Battery and Power Safety

• Use the supplied charger and follow the product's battery-charging instructions.
• Keep electrical controls dry and inspect cables and connectors.
• The saved product record does not establish an emergency lowering method or power-failure behaviour. Obtain written manufacturer instructions rather than assuming the lift can always lower during a power failure.
• Published battery estimates (approximately 200 cycles per charge and four-hour recharge) depend on usage conditions and should be verified for the supplied battery configuration.

Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage

• Wipe the powder-coated frame with a soft damp cloth; avoid harsh or corrosive cleaners.
• Clean the slings according to their sewn-in care labels, and dry before use.
• Inspect the actuator, fasteners, sling hooks, wheels, brakes, knee support and foot platform routinely.
• Store the lift indoors in a clean, dry place away from excess heat and moisture.
• Arrange preventive inspection approximately every 12 months, or sooner if indicated by use or the manual.
• Stop use and contact Morecare if a component is damaged, worn or operates abnormally.
