Product Information

Homecare Functions with a Home-Style Appearance
The Morecare Ultra-Low Hi-Low Electric Homecare Bed brings adjustable positioning and height control into a bed designed to complement a home environment.
Upholstered head, foot and side panels give the bed a furniture-style appearance. Panel colours can be selected to coordinate with the room, subject to confirmation when ordering.
Three Electrically Controlled Functions
A wired handset operates three adjustments
- Backrest adjustment: Raises or lowers the upper-body section.
- Leg-section adjustment: Changes the supported knee and leg position.
- Height adjustment: Raises or lowers the bed platform.
These adjustments allow the bed to be positioned for resting, supported sitting and daily caregiving.
Low Height for Individual Transfer Needs
With 6-inch castors, the approximate floor-to-mattress-top height range is 16–26 inches.
A smaller-wheel configuration provides an approximate range of 14–24 inches. The required wheel configuration must be selected before ordering.
The most suitable transfer height depends on the user's leg length, mobility and method of getting into or out of bed. The lowest position is not automatically the best transfer position for every person.
Supported Sitting and Reclining
The backrest raises to approximately 85° from the flat position. The leg section can also be adjusted to provide different supported resting positions.
Users who can understand and safely operate the handset may adjust the bed themselves. Others may require caregiver assistance.
Collapsible Side Rails
Side rails are provided on both sides. They can be lowered for access and raised until the locking mechanism engages.
Rail use should be selected according to the individual's needs, with attention to mattress fit and potential entrapment gaps.
Continuous Mattress with Internal Profiling
The supplied PU foam mattress has internal CNC-cut grooves that allow it to bend with the bed's adjustable sections. It provides a continuous mattress surface rather than separate cushion sections.
The cotton cover is removable and washable. It is not waterproof; a compatible waterproof protector is needed where fluid protection is required.
Optional Battery Backup and Made-to-Order Options
Battery backup is available at an additional cost. Custom length, width and panel colours can also be discussed before ordering.
Confirm the final dimensions, height range and configuration in the order documentation.

Resting and Supported Sitting
Backrest adjustment allows the user to move between lying and supported sitting positions for conversation, reading and other bedside activities.
Supported Leg Positioning
The electric leg section allows the knee and leg position to be adjusted according to the user's comfort and care requirements.
Adjustable Height for Daily Care
The bed can be raised to a more suitable working height for selected caregiving tasks and lowered when appropriate for resting or transfers.
The working height should be chosen according to the task and caregiver, rather than always using the maximum height.
Transfers Matched to the User
Adjustable height allows the mattress surface to be positioned in relation to the user's feet, wheelchair or other transfer equipment. Assistance and suitable transfer equipment may still be required.
Greater Control Over Bed Position
Users who can safely operate the handset can adjust their position without relying on a caregiver for every change.
A Familiar Bedroom Appearance
Upholstered panels and colour choices allow the bed to coordinate with home furniture while retaining its electric positioning functions.
Who May Consider This Bed?
This bed may suit adults who need adjustable resting positions, supported sitting or a variable bed height for daily care.
It can be considered for elderly care, limited-mobility care and recovery at home, subject to the user's individual requirements.
Check Before Ordering
Share the following information with Morecare
- User weight and height.
- Ability to sit, stand and transfer.
- Whether transfers are independent, assisted or performed using a hoist.
- Required mattress-top height.
- Wheelchair seat height, where relevant.
- Available room space and doorway clearance.
- Any prescribed positioning restrictions.
- Need for battery backup or fluid-resistant mattress protection.
The maximum user weight must be confirmed before purchase.
Choose the Correct Height Configuration
The 6-inch castor configuration provides an approximate mattress-top height of 16–26 inches.
The smaller-wheel configuration provides an approximate range of 14–24 inches.
Choose the configuration according to the user's transfer needs and the room environment. These are different configurations, not a single 14–26-inch adjustment range.
Handset Use
Independent handset operation is appropriate only when the user can understand the controls, recognise hazards and keep their body clear of moving parts. Otherwise, a caregiver should operate the bed.
Mattress and Pressure-Care Needs
People with existing pressure injuries, reduced sensation or difficulty repositioning need an individual mattress and pressure-care assessment.
The supplied mattress does not replace assisted repositioning, skin checks or a clinician-directed care plan.
Side-Rail Suitability
Side rails are not suitable for every user and should not be used as restraints. Consider the user's body size, movement, confusion and risk of climbing over or becoming trapped around the rails.
Equipment Compatibility
If a patient hoist or other transfer device will be used, confirm under-bed clearance and compatibility before ordering, particularly with the lower-height configuration.
Before Operating the Bed
- Apply all four castor brakes.
- Check that the mattress is correctly positioned.
- Ensure the handset cable and power cable are clear of moving mechanisms.
- Keep hands, feet, clothing, bedding and other objects away from the lifting frame.
- Confirm that the selected movement will not bring the bed into contact with furniture or walls.
During Adjustment
- Observe the user throughout each movement.
- Adjust gradually and stop if there is discomfort, sliding or an obstruction.
- Keep children and pets away from the area beneath the bed.
- Do not sit or stand on raised head or leg sections.
- Use only within the confirmed weight limit.
Side Rails
- Check that a raised rail has securely locked.
- Lower rails carefully while keeping fingers clear of hinges.
- Do not assume rails eliminate the risk of falling.
- Do not add a different mattress or thick overlay without checking rail height and entrapment gaps.
Mattress Care
- Remove and wash the cotton cover according to its care instructions.
- Dry the cover completely before refitting.
- Use a compatible waterproof protector where required.
- Avoid soaking the foam.
- Inspect the mattress and cover regularly for damage.
Electrical Care and Maintenance
- Keep the handset, control unit and electrical components dry.
- Disconnect the mains supply before cleaning, following the supplied instructions.
- Check cables, fasteners, castors and rail locks regularly.
- Stop using the bed if there is damage, unusual noise or unexpected movement.
- Confirm the power-failure procedure and optional battery-backup operation during installation.
