Supported Upright Standing

Veronica provides an external positioning structure for children who are not able to maintain an upright standing position without substantial assistance. Standing is undertaken as part of a professionally prescribed, supervised programme.

Individualized Postural Positioning

The head, chest, pelvic, hip, knee, foot and heel supports can be adjusted to suit the child's body proportions and clinical requirements. Correct fitting—not simply tightening all supports—is central to use.

Clinician-Directed Lower-Limb Loading

A therapist may prescribe supported weight-bearing and standing tolerance activities for suitable children. Veronica does not measure or regulate an exact proportion of weight placed through the legs; avoid marketing it as quantified body-weight unloading.

Learning, Books and Communication While Standing

The included activity tray creates a surface for selected table-top learning, picture communication, drawing, reading and device-assisted interaction within the child's reach.

Occupational Therapy and Hand Activities

Therapists may plan upper-limb reaching and fine-motor activities while the child is positioned upright. Access and outcomes depend on the user's arm control and correct tray distance.

Supervised Play and Social Interaction

When clinically appropriate, the frame can be used during toys, games and shared family activities, allowing supported standing to be paired with meaningful participation.

Home, School and Clinical Sessions

The manually adjustable frame may be used in properly prepared homes, therapy centres, hospitals and special education settings with correct caregiver training and secure positioning.

Realistic Outcomes

The immediate functional outcome is supported upright participation in an appropriate standing programme. Improvements in circulation, bone health, range of motion, balance or independence cannot be guaranteed and depend on individual clinical assessment.

Feeding Note

The tray may hold suitable mealtime items only if a qualified professional approves the standing posture and swallowing/feeding requirements; upright standing alone does not establish safe feeding.

Who May Be Suitable?

✓ Children approximately 4–15 years old, 3–5.5 ft tall and weighing up to 80 kg who require supported static upright standing.

✓ Selected children with cerebral palsy, including some GMFCS III–V users, or other neurological and developmental conditions following individual fitting and professional assessment.

✓ Children requiring adjustable positioning support around the head, chest, pelvis, hips, knees and feet.

✓ Children participating in a professionally prescribed standing programme who may also benefit from suitable learning, play or communication activities while upright.

✓ Families, schools and therapy centres where a safe transfer method, sufficient caregiver assistance and stable floor space are available.

When Veronica May Not Be the Right Product

• Children who need gradual lying-to-standing positioning or adjustable standing angles may be better suited to an electric supine standing frame such as Morecare Peony.
• Children who need a combined seated and standing configuration with a manual sit-to-stand transition may require assessment for Morecare Protea.
• Children whose primary rehabilitation requirement is walking or stepping practice need a suitable gait trainer rather than a stationary standing frame.
• Children with standing contraindications, significant joint contractures, fragile bones or insufficient transfer support require specialist evaluation before use.
• Children requiring independent tilt adjustment of the activity tray should note that Veronica's published tray angle is fixed.

Measurements Required Before Ordering

Before Ordering

Morecare should review the child's measurements, standing requirements and therapist recommendations before advising on the standard or customized configuration.

Confirm the included supports, final frame dimensions, optional accessories, customization charges, delivery schedule and suitable transfer method.

Customization does not automatically increase the approved 80 kg maximum user capacity or establish suitability for every child.

Before First Use

• Confirm that the child's physiotherapist or treating professional has recommended an appropriate standing programme.
• Review the child's bone and joint health, standing tolerance, weight-bearing precautions, positioning requirements and transfer method.
• Confirm the child is within the published maximum user capacity of 80 kg and fits the adjustable supports.
• Inspect the assembled frame and ensure all mechanical adjustments and support attachments are secured.
• Place Veronica on a firm, stable, level floor.
• Lock all four castor wheels before transferring the child into the standing frame.

Before Every Standing Session

• Inspect the frame, welds, castors, wheel brakes, adjustable supports, straps, buckles and tray mountings for damage or looseness.
• Adjust the head, chest, pelvis, hips, knees and foot positioning according to the child's assessed requirements.
• Check that the straps provide appropriate support without restricting breathing or creating excessive pressure.
• Use the recommended caregiver-assisted transfer method to place the child into the frame.
• Confirm all supports and mechanical locks are properly secured before beginning the standing session.

During Standing and Therapy

• Maintain continuous appropriate caregiver or therapist supervision.
• Follow the prescribed standing duration, positioning and rest schedule.
• Monitor head and trunk alignment, breathing, lower-limb positioning, skin pressure and signs of fatigue or discomfort.
• Stop the session if the child experiences dizziness, pain, distress, unusual pressure, breathing difficulty or other concerning symptoms.
• Keep all four wheel locks engaged throughout stationary standing activities.
• Use the activity tray only for appropriate supervised play, learning, communication or therapy activities.
• Do not use the activity tray, head support, chest support or straps as lifting handles.
• Never leave a child unattended in the standing frame.
• Do not use Veronica for walking, independent transfers or transporting an occupied child.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Clean the powder-coated mild-steel frame with a soft damp cloth.
• Wipe the activity tray, support pads and other accessible surfaces using a suitable mild cleaning solution.
• Dry cleaned surfaces thoroughly.
• Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, abrasive cleaners and excessive moisture around adjustment mechanisms.
• Keep castor wheels and brakes clean and free from hair and debris.
• Regularly inspect the frame joints, locking mechanisms, straps, buckles, support brackets and foot-positioning components.
• Stop using the product if any structural component is damaged, a support is loose or a wheel brake fails.
• Contact Morecare for approved spare parts, maintenance or repair.

Storage and Product Life

• Store Veronica indoors in a clean, dry environment.
• Lock the castors when the frame is stored in an upright position.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and corrosive cleaning products.
• The expected service life is approximately 5–7 years with appropriate care and maintenance. This is not an extension of the 12-month warranty.

Veronica is a fixed upright pediatric standing frame, not an electric standing lift, tilt table, gait trainer or patient-transfer device.

It should only be used after an appropriate individual standing and handling assessment.
