Supported Corner Seating for Daily Activities

The 90° corner arrangement provides external trunk positioning for selected children who struggle to sit steadily without assistance. The therapist adjusts the pelvic belt, chest support and pommel to the child's assessed needs.

Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

Therapists can use Pentas for supervised seated reaching, communication, play and selected movement tasks. The frame supports positioning; it does not automatically improve trunk control or correct a fixed deformity.

Early Prone and Crawling-Related Activities

When converted according to the approved procedure, Pentas offers a supported prone setup for therapist-guided upper-limb loading, head control, weight shifting and crawling-related movement activities. Whether a child can attempt reciprocal movement depends on clinical readiness.

Learning, Play and Communication

With correct support placement, the child can participate in books, toys, schoolwork and communication activities. A removable therapy tray is available separately where needed.

Feeding-Related Sitting

Pentas may be used for selected supervised mealtime routines when the child's therapist and feeding/swallowing team approve the posture. The chair does not, by itself, make oral feeding safe.

Home, School and Clinical Programmes

After fitting and caregiver training, suitable sessions may take place in homes, special schools or rehabilitation clinics on flat, stable floors with castors locked for stationary activity.

Realistic Outcomes

The main benefit is access to appropriately supported sitting and selected prone activities using one configurable device. Improved independent sitting, crawling, motor development or feeding ability cannot be guaranteed.

Who May Be Suitable

• Children approximately 3–10 years old who need external trunk and pelvic positioning for seated activities.
• Children up to 40 kg who can be correctly fitted in both intended configurations.
• Selected children with CP (including some GMFCS II–IV users), developmental delay, hypotonia or other movement/postural difficulties, after assessment.
• Families and therapists who want both supported corner seating and a separate prone-therapy option without purchasing two complete devices.

When Another Product May Be Better

• The child needs a wheelchair or safe transport seat: Pentas is not intended for those functions.
• The child needs prolonged complex seating with advanced tilt or recline: consider an individually assessed adaptive seating chair.
• The child needs supported standing rather than sitting/prone work: assess a pediatric standing frame.
• The child needs a powered or dedicated gait trainer for upright stepping: Pentas does not provide gait suspension.
• The child cannot tolerate safe prone positioning or does not fit the supports in one of the modes; clinical review is essential.

Measurements and Information to Share

• Age, height, weight and clinical diagnosis (if relevant).
• Hip width, trunk dimensions, thigh length and required sitting height.
• Head control, trunk control and current sitting position.
• Hip, knee and ankle range of motion and any pressure or skin concerns.
• Ability and tolerance for prone positioning and upper-limb loading.

• Intended locations, floor conditions and approximate room/doorway space.

• Seating height 12–18 inches.
• Adjustable seat width and depth within the current product's available range.
• Butterfly chest harness, four-point pelvic belt and adjustable abduction pommel.
• Reconfiguration between corner seating and prone crawling modes according to the manufacturer's approved current instructions.

Before Every Session

• Follow the child's therapist-approved plan for supported sitting or prone-position activities.
• Confirm the child is within the 40 kg maximum rating for the mode in use.
• Check the frame, fold joints, castor brakes, seating/back module, harness attachments, pelvic belt, pommel and upholstered supports.
• Place the device on a flat, stable indoor surface; lock all four braked castors for stationary activities.
• Check support positions and secure all adjustment mechanisms before positioning the child.
• Fit the butterfly chest harness and four-point pelvic belt without restricting breathing or causing excessive pressure.

Corner Seating Mode

• Support the child during entry, positioning and exit using the approved caregiver handling method.
• Set seat height, width, depth, pommel, chest and pelvic supports according to the fitting assessment.
• Monitor head/trunk alignment, skin comfort, breathing, fatigue and the child's response.
• Use a therapy tray only if the optional accessory is supplied and correctly fitted.
• Feeding must follow individualized swallowing and positioning guidance.

Prone Crawling Mode

• Remove the child before any conversion. Reconfigure the relevant back/seat component exactly as instructed in the current Morecare manual.
• Check every fastener, locking point, support and castor brake before the child is placed in prone position.
• Follow the clinician's recommendations for trunk/head positioning, upper-limb loading and session duration.
• Stop if there is distress, breathing difficulty, pain, skin pressure, unstable support or unusual fatigue.
• This is therapist-guided positioning equipment, not a powered crawler or independent mobility aid.

Mobility, Storage and Safety Limits

• Never fold or change configurations while occupied.
• Do not use on stairs, slopes, rough terrain or unstable surfaces.
• Do not assume it may be wheeled with the child seated unless the delivered model's approved procedure specifically permits occupied movement.
• Never use harnesses or the frame to lift a child.
• Supervise the child throughout every session.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Clean powder-coated metal with a soft damp cloth and wipe high-density foam/PU leatherette with suitable mild cleaner.
• Avoid abrasive products, strong solvents, bleach and prolonged moisture exposure.
• Inspect stitching, buckles, support padding, castors, brakes, fittings and conversion joints regularly.
• Keep wheel assemblies free of hair and debris; remove damaged equipment from use until repaired.
• Store the frame in a clean, dry indoor location.
• The published 5–7-year service life is an estimate based on proper use and care, not the warranty period.

• Use the current model-specific assembly instructions and request virtual setup assistance if needed.
