Supported Standing and Early Gait Practice

For children unable to maintain a secure upright position without substantial assistance, LiteGait can provide harness support while the therapist plans supported standing, weight shifting and initial stepping tasks. Full suspension may be used where appropriately assessed.

Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation

Selected children with cerebral palsy may use LiteGait for therapist-led gait practice when reduced strength, balance or postural control makes a standard walker insufficient. The choice of support depends on the child's functional abilities, not diagnosis or GMFCS level alone.

Neurological and Developmental Rehabilitation

The system may support individualized movement practice for selected children with developmental delay, neurological injury or neuromuscular conditions, provided medical stability, joint movement and harness positioning allow safe use.

Overground Walking Training

With the correct frame configuration and approved brake procedure, therapists can guide stepping and walking on a suitable level indoor surface. The equipment provides support; it does not power leg movement or walk independently.

Treadmill-Based Gait Training

LiteGait may be combined with a suitable treadmill after checking its dimensions, clearance beneath the frame, belt access, available space, stability and supervision. The treadmill is not part of the standard package.

Balance and Weight-Shifting Activities

When Another Device May Be Better

• If the objective is only supported stationary standing for play and learning, a dedicated pediatric standing frame may be more appropriate.
• If the child already walks with sufficient lower-limb support but primarily needs pelvic or trunk guidance, a lighter pediatric gait trainer may be suitable.
• If the principal requirement is moving the child from bed to chair, choose an approved patient transfer system rather than this gait-training device.

Important Product Selection Limits

The maximum standard user weight is 80 kg. The published 3000 N actuator force and 400 kg wheel-component rating do not increase the patient weight limit.

Before Each Training Session

During Supported Standing and Walking

• A qualified therapist or trained caregiver must remain present throughout; never leave a child suspended or unattended.
• Fit the chest and pelvic harness securely without excessive pressure and check the child's posture and breathing throughout.
• Use the wired two-button controller only for its intended electric suspension/height adjustment function.
• Monitor comfort, skin pressure, limb position, fatigue and distress; stop the session if any concern arises.
• Keep hands, feet, clothing and any medical tubing clear of wheels, moving suspension components and treadmill belts.
• Use treadmill training only when the treadmill and gait trainer have been checked for compatibility and the therapist has approved the setup.

Emergency Stop and Loss of Power
