Early-Intervention Standing Programmes

i-Rise provides external support for children who cannot maintain an upright standing position independently.

Under therapist guidance, a child can participate in a standing programme suited to their physical abilities and medical needs.

Individual Postural Positioning

The adjustable chest, pelvic, knee and foot components help caregivers and therapists position the child's body for supervised standing.

Alignment needs to be assessed individually; the equipment does not automatically correct deformities or abnormal posture.

Supported Weight-Bearing Activity

A clinician may use i-Rise to introduce or maintain appropriately prescribed upright weight-bearing activities.

The amount and duration of weight bearing depend on the individual child's needs and restrictions.

Play, Learning and Communication

The included foldable tray can provide an activity surface for supervised games, drawing, books and communication exercises while the child is supported in standing.

Home and School Routines

After setup training and therapist approval, families and educators can incorporate selected standing sessions into a consistent daily schedule in an appropriate indoor environment.

Therapist-Guided Developmental Rehabilitation

i-Rise may be considered as part of a treatment programme for selected children with cerebral palsy, developmental delay, muscular weakness, hypotonia, spinal cord injury or other conditions affecting standing ability.

Realistic Outcomes

The purpose of i-Rise is to facilitate supported upright positioning and participation.

Improvements in strength, bone health, hip development, walking ability or independence are not guaranteed by the device.

Goals and progress should be monitored by the child's rehabilitation team

Who May Be Suitable

• Children approximately 1–6 years old who need externally supported standing as part of an individual rehabilitation programme.
• Children whose clinical assessment supports upright positioning and loading through the legs, including selected children at GMFCS Levels III–IV.
• Children whose height, trunk dimensions, pelvic width, knee positioning and foot size fit the standard supports and adjustment ranges.
• Families, special schools and therapy providers looking for a compact supervised standing setup with an included activity tray.

When i-Rise May Not Be the Right Choice

• The child's posture or medical restrictions require a reclined, supine or gradual-tilt standing system rather than upright frame-based positioning.
• Fixed contractures, hip/knee/ankle restrictions or pain prevent correct positioning in the standard supports.
• The child needs a different head, trunk or pelvic support arrangement that cannot be provided safely with the chosen configuration.
• The main goal is walking practice or full-body suspension rather than supported standing; a gait trainer or dedicated body-weight-support system may be more appropriate.
• The child cannot fit safely in the frame despite meeting the published age or weight limits.

Before Each Standing Session

• Follow the child's rehabilitation professional's instructions for position, session duration and weight-bearing restrictions.
• Confirm the child is within the published 60 kg maximum and fits the current support setup.
• Inspect the frame, support pads, footplates, adjusters, tray, castors, brakes and any straps or harness attachments.
• Place i-Rise on a firm, stable, level indoor surface and lock the designated braked castors before positioning the child.
• Set support heights and widths based on a current fitting assessment, then securely lock all adjustment mechanisms.
• Position the child's feet correctly and secure chest, pelvic and knee supports as instructed; do not over-tighten or restrict breathing.
• Never place or remove the child without appropriate caregiver assistance.

During Supported Standing

• Remain with the child throughout the session. Never leave a child unattended in the frame.
• Check the child's comfort, breathing, skin, head/trunk position and foot contact throughout.
• Use the foldable tray only for approved supervised activities; do not load it with heavy items or use it to lift the device.
• Do not move or fold the frame while the child is in it unless a manufacturer-approved occupied-movement procedure explicitly permits this for the delivered configuration.
• Stop the session if the child has pain, unusual distress, loss of position, dizziness, skin pressure or equipment instability.
• Do not use the device on slopes, stairs, thresholds or uneven ground.

Dynamic/Orientation Adjustments

• If the delivered model supports anterior-to-posterior conversion by wheel relocation, perform the change without the child in the frame, according to the current manufacturer instructions.
• Check correct castor installation, all locks and structural fasteners after any conversion.
• A support/resting harness must not be treated as certification for full-body suspension or patient lifting.

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Wipe the powder-coated steel frame and wooden tray with a soft damp cloth and mild cleaner.
• Clean PU support pads according to their supplied care instructions; allow them to dry fully.
• Avoid strong solvents, bleach, abrasive cleaners and pressure washing.
• Inspect castors, brakes, bolts, pads and support fasteners regularly; replace worn or damaged components.
• Keep wheels free of hair, dust and debris.
• Store the frame in a dry indoor environment when not in use.
• Arrange Morecare-approved servicing if there is frame damage, instability or abnormal movement.
